Interns at Google work across multiple teams including software engineering, business, user experience, and more. With internships available globally, you will have the opportunity to grow with Google and contribute to creating products and services used by billions. <br><br>Types of Internships<br> <br><br> Business Internships: Available outside of the United States for undergraduate and graduate students. Qualifications and application dates vary by location. <br><br> STEP Internships: Focused on students passionate about technology, with requirements and application dates varying by location. <br><br> Software Engineering Internship: Open to undergraduate and graduate/PhD students globally, with rolling application dates depending on location. <br><br> Associate Product Manager Internship: Interns bridge technical and business worlds, designing technology and leading teams such as Sales, Marketing, and Finance. Available globally with varying requirements and application dates. <br><br> Legal Internship: Open to students majoring or specializing in legal studies and available in certain countries outside North America. Start and end times can vary by role — check with your recruiter regarding your precise start and end dates. <br><br> Do I need to be currently enrolled in a full-time course load to be eligible for an internship opportunity? <br>This varies by internship. For the course load requirements for your specific internship opportunity, refer to the job description on our careers site. Depending on the type of internship and location, you may still be eligible if you aren’t currently enrolled in a full-time course load. <br><br> I’ve applied for an internship before. Is the application process any different for me? <br>The process for all applicants is the same, regardless of how far you previously progressed in the interview process. <br><br> Will I need a visa for an internship based outside of my country of residence? <br>Visa requirements differ across our internships. The job description will usually provide insight into whether a visa is required. Once you pass the initial screening stage, your recruiter will provide more information. <br><br> I’m currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program (BA/BS internship), but I have been accepted and plan to attend a master’s program (MS internship) after obtaining my degree. Can I be considered for an MS role? <br>Yes. Please explicitly state your intention to attend a master’s degree program on your resume, including the school and your tentative graduation date. Depending on available roles and regions you apply to, you may receive a follow-up survey. This information is then sent to the recruiting team for review, and if roles align with your specialized skills, the recruiting team will reach out to you directly to schedule phone interviews. <br><br> How long after I apply will I hear back from the recruiting team? <br>There’s no single process or experience; timing can vary and is based on role availability. The general process begins with an initial resume screen as roles become available. Depending on available roles and the opportunity you applied for, you may receive a follow-up survey. This information is then sent to recruiting teams for review, and if roles or a particular role align with your specialized skills, the recruiting team will reach out to you directly. This can take upwards of 60+ days. <br><br> I’ve applied for multiple roles. Can I be considered for all of them? <br>Yes, all applications are assessed for all open internship opportunities. If we feel your skills align with a role other than the one to which you applied, we’ll reach out to you. <br><br> I have an offer deadline. Can I be fast-tracked through the process? <br>You can include your offer deadline in your cover letter or resume. However, we screen applications based on the roles we have available and the skill sets needed. <br><br> How long does the hiring process take? <br>Process time varies across all our roles and is contingent on role availability. Process times can take 8-10 weeks from initial resume screen review. <br><br> Can you grant me an extension on the coding sample? <br>Unfortunately, no. Please complete the coding sample before the deadline; otherwise we won’t be able to send another coding sample for 6 months. <br><br> I applied for a role in a specific country. Can I be considered for the same role in a different country instead? <br>All regions and roles have different job opening and closing dates which can be found below the “Apply” button on the listed job posting. Please apply to those roles and regions that are of interest to you. <br><br> Can I withdraw my application? <br>Yes, if you have a designated point of contact in the hiring process, reach out and let them know you’d like to be withdrawn. <br><br> I applied for another role and haven’t heard back. What can I do? <br>All applications are assessed for all open internship opportunities. We’ll reach out to you if the roles available align with the skills listed in your resume. <br><br> I completed a coding sample as part of my application. Can I know the results of my sample? <br>Unfortunately, no. To ensure a fair and equitable hiring process and to protect candidate privacy, we don’t release the results of coding samples. <br><br> My application status<br> <br>Can a Googler submit a referral for me if I’ve already submitted an application? <br>Yes, if a referrer has submitted your information through our portal you’ll receive an email invitation to accept their referral. If accepted, this referral will automatically be attached to your open application. <br><br> Can a Googler open another application for me for a different role? No, please apply directly through our Google Careers site. <br><br> Can you share my application with other teams at Google? <br>All applications are assessed for all open internship opportunities. If we think your skills align with a role other than the one to which you applied, we’ll reach out to you for further interest. <br><br> I’m not available for this internship season. Can you copy my application to another season? <br>No, please apply directly through the Google Careers site for the season you’re available. <br><br> Will my application be matched with a specific role or product? <br>Role/project matching happens after interviews and your recruiter will update you regarding next steps. <br><br> When will I find out which project I’ll be working on? <br>This can vary based on the program and timing of your candidacy. If a recruiter is in touch with you for consideration for one of our internship roles, they will give you a general timeline to include project placement. <br><br> If I didn’t receive an offer, when can I apply again? <br>Candidates are allowed to submit up to 3 applications every 30 days from their first application date. If you haven’t applied to 3 roles within 30 days, there is no hold on when you’re able to apply again. We recommend waiting 6-12 months before reapplying in order to improve your skills and experience, and maximize your hiring potential. <br><br> Are Google internships paid? <br>Yes, all Google internships are paid. <br><br> Will I have to travel for my interviews? <br>Probably not, as almost all interviews are conducted virtually or over the phone. If onsite interviews are needed, you will be reimbursed for the cost of travel. <br><br> Do you provide relocation or housing support for interns? <br>Google provides a housing stipend as well as a relocation bonus for those eligible, to help offset some of your relocation and housing costs, and resources to help you find housing once you’ve accepted your offer. <br><br> Can I check the status of my application? <br>Unfortunately, once you apply there is no way to check the status of your application. Once your application has been reviewed, you may be contacted by a member of the hiring team. <br><br> I applied and haven’t heard back. Is there anyone that can review my resume? <br>Google receives thousands of applications each day. Once your application has been reviewed, a member of the hiring team may be in touch. We may not reach out to you if the skills listed on your resume don’t align to our open roles. <br><br> My friend applied for an internship and received a coding sample exercise.
