Minimum Qualifications

  • Engineering graduate, MCA, or equivalent.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in 3GPP Radio Access Technologies (2G/3G/LTE/5G), air interface, network signaling, and Layer 2/Layer 3 protocols on UE & RAN side, including NAS layer.
  • Hands-on experience with modem/UE protocol stack testing and interoperability testing with network operators and NEM labs (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent).
  • Ability to understand network scenarios (signaling & user plane call flow), develop test plans/test cases, and execute using automation frameworks.
  • Proficiency in log collection, analysis, and debugging of regression issues.
  • Scripting knowledge in PERL, Python, or TTCN.
  • Familiarity with tools: QXDM, QCAT, QPST, Prism, Anritsu, Keysight test instruments, RTD scripting, trace/log tools, core dump analysis, and flashing tools.
  • Working knowledge of Linux host platforms and internal/customer-specific platforms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced understanding of 3GPP specifications and network vendor tests.
  • Experience in automation using Shell, TCL, Python, Perl, C, C++, or TTCN.
  • Exposure to VSAT-SATCOM technologies.
  • Proven ability to work under close supervision while enhancing technical skills through training and self-study.

About the Job The Engineer – Software Test & Release role is an operationally focused position ideal for fresh engineering graduates or early-career professionals passionate about wireless communication protocols. Working under the close guidance of a Team Lead/Project Manager, the engineer will apply broad technical knowledge to identify system issues, modify existing frameworks, and ensure on-time delivery of high-quality test artifacts. The role emphasizes hands-on protocol testing across 2G/3G/LTE/5G technologies, automation scripting, and interoperability validation with global network vendors. Successful candidates will enhance their skills through structured training, self-study, and periodic assessments while contributing to live customer projects on internal and vendor-specific platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, code, test, debug, document, and provide technical support for protocol testing modules.
  • Develop test plans, test cases, and automation scripts; execute regression suites and analyze logs for root-cause identification.
  • Conduct modem/UE protocol stack testing and interoperability testing with NEM labs (Ericsson, Nokia, Alcatel-Lucent).
  • Adhere to deliverable review checklists, send daily/weekly status reports, and follow organizational processes.
  • Enhance technical capabilities through training, self-study, and periodic assessments.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve field-reported issues and ensure adherence to quality and productivity goals.
